The Lainey Lately

I simply cannot believe what a little girl my baby is turning into. How and why do they grow up so fast? Somebody explain this to me. She talks incredibly well for an 18 month old. She is smarter than I ever expect her to be. She really knows how to work it too. She's found an intelligent way of getting what she wants by making you think what she wants is your idea. For example: She'll say, "cookie please, cookie please?" Then I will repeat what she is saying just to make sure I understand what she is trying to communicate, so I'll say: "You want a cookie?" What does the little booger say after you ask her this? She says, "Okay." As If I were really asking her if she wanted one. Then you feel like your stuck because it really does seem like you were asking her if she wanted a cookie in the first place. She is growing and becoming prettier and prettier everyday. I can't believe I was blessed with such a sweet, funny, and smart little angel. In the morning we will hear her on the monitor talking, as if she knows we are listening. The other morning Greg and I were laying in bed and we hear her say, " I want out, I do, yeah I do." Greg and I start laughing and get excited to go in there to grab her and kiss her little face. We've also been trying to discipline her because she is getting a little sassy. So, we've been trying to introduce timeout to her. The other night Lainey was playing with some new blinds we got and being pretty rough with them. Greg asked her to stop, but of course she persisted, so he put her in her timeout spot and she stayed there like a good girl until Greg told her she could come out. About ten minutes later Greg and I were busy talking with our friend, Chris, who was over, and weren't paying attention to what Lainey was up to. All of the sudden Chris starts laughing and says, "Did you guys even see what she just did?" We look over at Lainey and see that she is in her time out spot again. Chris said she had been playing with the blinds again the whole time we were chatting away and then realized she wasn't supposed to be doing that, and went and put herself in timeout. So far the timeout thing has been working really well! :) We love our little Lainey girl. She is such a joy to have in our home. I love that I get to spend every single day with her. I have felt, on numerous occasions, that she is so special and that she was sent to our home first for a reason. I know she is going to be such a good big sister and help me out with my other children someday. Lainey, Mommy and Daddy love you more than our hearts can even hold! I can't describe in words how grateful I am to be your mother. You teach me new things about myself everyday and I love you for that too!

Little Cinderella

It's been a while since Halloween, but I had to post something on here before Thanksgiving came. Well, our Halloween night consisted of visiting family, trick-or-treating, and putting up with one tired little girl. She wore out so quickly, but overall it was a lot of fun. We took Lainey trick-or-treating in my parents neighborhood and the houses there are really far apart, so my little sister and Lainey used the Barbie Hotwheels Jeep to go from house to house in. Lainey was loving it. They were a super cute duo. Here are some pictures from Halloween night and from when we went to the zoo a while ago that I never put up:

Finally

I'm so sorry to everybody that has sent me a comment or email telling me to update my blog, but I haven't had internet access since we moved. Anyway a lot has happened... first of all... We moved! It has been so wonderful for our little family to be in a home of our own. We love our new ward and neighborhood. Hmmm, what else... well, Lainey has been growing like crazy and pretty much talks like an adult. She can say and pretty much do whatever she wants including somersaults and climbing on anything! Yes, ANYTHING! I swear that kid is a thrill seeker. Nothing phases her and she rarely cries because of pain. We also found out that we are having a BOY this time around! Yay, One of each! We are really excited and still aren't set on any names. I am 23 weeks pregnant, so that means I still have 17 weeks left :( yeah I guess I'm sort of a "glass half empty" kinda girl. Greg went to Idaho with his cousin and Grandpa on a fishing trip this month and Lainey and I went to California with my mom and sister for a week. We did the Disneyland thing, and also went to the Aquarium and of course the beach. Lainey loved all of it of course. Disneyland was a little too much for her since she is only 17 months old, but it was worth the cute photos and memories for me! She cried when she saw Mickey, but loved Winnie the Pooh. And I think that sums up the highlights. Here are a few pictures from the month and since today is Halloween my next post will definitely have photos/videos from Lainey's first trick-or-treat experience! P.S the picture at the bottom is from today October 31, 2009 and it's just for Nikki Nichols so she'll stop scolding me for not showing her my big ol belly!

She puts me to shame

So lately, I've been putting aside an hour or so a day, to try and teach myself the piano. I've always regretted not learning the piano when I was young. Well, I saw this video of this little girl a long time ago, but I was just watching it again and let me just say... She puts me to shame. She's only 6 years old and she's amazing! Just thought I would share it:

Cravings... all I can think about

Poor Greg, I've made dinnner maybe 3 times since I've been pregnant. We've wasted so much money eating out because not only do I have no motivation or energy to cook, but if I cook, and waft in the smell of my cooking, I get sick. So I'm trying to get my energy back, but to be quite honest I'm not sure how to do that. I'm just so extremely tired all the time. It's like if I'm standing in a room and there is a chair somewhere near me or a couch; it calls out to me saying, "lounge and be lazy on me!" I have to tell you it's a little difficult for me to not be feeling myself. I guess it's part of the joys of pregnancy, right? Well, since I hate cooking dinner, I hate my cooking too, so here are a few restaurants and food that I do crave:

So what has Greg been eating almost every night while his wife does whatever she wants for dinner? He fends for himself with this:
