We've been enjoying the outdoors a lot this May because it hasn't been too hot yet. It's been so nice for an Arizona May. Dad has been working hard on our garden, but he always has his helpers:

Lainey also started her second year of swim lessons. She's still a little scared because of a scare that happened last year, but she's getting better :) And I'd rather have a kid scared of the water than fearless.

Our very first "ready to harvest" tomato just happened to be ready on Lainey's birthday, so she got to pick it and eat it
It's the best picture I could get of the two of them on the slide.
Lainey did have a birthday this month, so I am now a mom to a 3 year old. Can't believe my sweetie is so big. We took her out to breakfast in the morning to Village Inn where she got a free piece of pie when she left. She got to pick any kind she wanted :) Then we took her to Toys R Us to pick out any toy she wanted (with a reasonable price.) She decided to go with the new princess pony that is out. Then later that day we had a party with family at Peter Piper Pizza. Everyone had a blast. Grandma Carla made her the cutest birthday cake. Lainey's special request was a "ballerina cake," so Carla made a darling ballerina cake for her. (Delicious too!)
Right before bed... birthday was almost over but she had to play with her toys one more time before sleeping.
Lainey has been having some play-dates lately with her friends in the neighborhood and one day we had Lily, Kate, and Emma over for a swim day. Here are the cutie patootie pictures:

She cried hysterically cuz she didn't want to go down the slide, but after I pushed her down it, she realized it was fun and then did it again and again.
Right before I climbed up there and pushed her down the slide.
Lainey also had her very first dance recital. I have to admit, it's something I've dreamed of seeing for a long time. I loved getting her ready and sitting in the audience watching her. It was A-dorable!
Notice the cute little milkshake bouquet my mom made her. So cute Mom! I wish I had even an ounce of your creativity and craftiness :/
